The Salamander

You just gotta love living in a not so well built house on a not so well built slab. You end up with all kinds of creepy crawlies. Though, I must admit, this one was a real surprise. Sammy had gone to the kitchen for water during school and started yelling about a lizard in the house, yah right...Well, he was right. And then we couldn't get to him because he was hiding under the linoleum where it is peeled up. Uggg! He finally came scurrying out and I was yelling at the boys to be quicker, faster, you know..., just get him! I really didn't want him under the fridge or stove. Thankfully, they got him and after releasing him Christopher told me that it really wasn't necessary for me to scream " it was just a little lizard". I love my boys!
Just so you know, when I pulled a little of the linoleum back to clean it out, I found dead snails, too. Isn't that fun?

Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe I am 3..., wait, that would be 34! Yes, I am not too proud to admit it. I love my birthday. My dear husband, wonderful family, and most awesome friends always make me feel so special and loved. I always enjoy thinking back on the past year to see how the Lord has worked in my life, and the ways He has used me in the lives of others. He truly is an amazing God, and I am truly blessed.
This is what I awoke to on my birthday. Matt got up early and went to Dunkin Donuts and we had the full spread including decorations by my boys. You gotta love legos. That night we had some good friends over for cards and cake. It was so much fun, even though I didn't get to win on my birthday. You gotta love those true friends who keep you humble even on your birthday. :) And since I couldn't have everyone at once, Matt organized a chocolate tasting with more great friends. (all my favorite things...) You are seeing now, that I don't just have a birthday, it's more like a week or a month. The boys wanted to taste test too, so the next day we set it up for them. They were pretty funny in their analysis of each piece. Like I said, I love my birthday. Thank you to all of you who made me feel so cared for. You all are the best!

Oh, yah, Christopher just had to try the wine glass. He is going to be my debonair.

Windows Anyone?

So for those of you who just can't stand it...Here are some of the windows. Yes, I know, pretty much the same as before. Most of the work is interior with rough plumb and electrical and such. Those are hard to show because it all still looks like framing. We have selected our granite and know what type of cabinets we want, but now we have to find the right price. ;) We will do cream distressed around the walls with a distressed black island which will match my distressed, 150 year old mantel in the living room. The granite will be black on the cream and the island will have something a little more exotic. That's about all for now. I will get a new picture soon and hopefully some of interior. Hope that tides you over.
